Reporting to the Associate Director of Library Services, the appointee will be responsible for managing the University Archives, formulating and implementing policies and guidelines on archives and records management, retention, and disposal. He/She will administer the daily activities of the University Archives, including acquisition, appraisal, description and accessioning, records scheduling, disposal, research and development. His/Her responsibilities also include promoting the archives and access to records; processing requests for access; working closely with other offices to ensure records in Electronic Content Management System are properly stored and managed during their lifecycle; and supervising staff to assure constant and timely review and update of webpages related to Archives. The appointee will support the Manager (Digital Scholarship & Archives) in managing and enhancing the visibility of Special Collections, and administer office-related matters to ensure the smooth operation of the office.

Applicants should have an MLS degree in Library Science or Information Science or equivalent in addition to a bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years’ post-qualification academic library experience. The successful candidate should have professional knowledge about books, manuscripts, archives and records management, good planning and organization skills, with initiative and client focus. He/She should also possess excellent communication skills, the ability to work effectively in a team environment, and a learning mindset. Knowledge of and experience in electronic lifecycle of documents will be an advantage. Professional development opportunities will be available. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
