Working closely with the Systems and Digital Services team and the Digital Humanities (DH) Specialist, the Assistant Manager (Digital Humanities) will assist the DH Specialist in administering the DH Workshop, a collaborative project between the Division of Humanities and the Library. Specifically, the appointee will assist in the building of library service and space to support Digital Humanities; identify, acquire and prepare user manuals for appropriate DH tools for research projects; design and maintain DH projects’ websites; and provide technical support to researchers for developing projects, DH tools and platforms. The appointee will also provide training to Research Assistants who work on DH projects and curate online exhibitions of the Library.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree, preferably in design, design engineering, creative media or computer science, plus 3-4 years’ work experience. A master’s degree or 1-2 years’ experience in developing humanities or art project will be an advantage. The appointee should be familiar with content management systems (e.g. WordPress and Drupal), and have skills in web-development technologies and frameworks (Javascript, CSS, HTML5 and RESTful APIs). Skills in graphics and interface design tools such as Photoshop, Sketch and Figma will be useful. Appointee with less experience will be provided with on-the-job training. (Duration: 2 years)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
