Assistant Officer (Commons & Media Resources) (Job ID: 7936)
The appointee will provide general support to the Commons & Media Resources Unit of Library’s Access Services. His/Her duties include providing support to facilities and equipment usage and clerical and logistics support to circulation activities, projects, and events. He/She will also be required to perform floor duty to monitor study area, shelving and end-processing duty for media collection, counter duties at service desks, and perform other Access Services duties as assigned.
Applicants should have at least 5 passes including English (min. Grade C if Syllabus A or level 2 if results were obtained from 2007 onwards) and Chinese in the HKCEE; or 5 subjects, including English Language and Chinese Language, attaining level 2 or above (or equivalent) in the HKDSE. He/She should have proficiency in MS Office applications and Chinese processing, and a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese. The successful candidate should be service-oriented and a good team player; and has good typing, data entry and analytical skills. Experience of working in a library environment will be an advantage. Shift duty is required. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
