The HKUST Library is currently seeking suitable candidates for the Assistant Officer (Research Support) positions. Reporting to the Research Support Manager, the selected candidates will work closely with the team to deliver research support services to the HKUST community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the Scholarly Publication Databases (SPD) and create/ maintain author profiles;
  • Input and verify publication information for research outputs in SPD and other research management systems;
  • Recruit and supervise student helpers for SPD;
  • Provide logistics and administrative support for researchers’ workshops and other library events;
  • Perform counter duty during assigned shift.; and
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Applicants should hold an associate degree or bachelor’s degree and ideally have 1-2 years of work experience. Previous experience in an academic library is preferred;
  • Knowledge of bibliographic databases, author identity management, and descriptive metadata is an advantage;
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese; and
  • Attention to detail, self-motivation, a positive attitude, and good team spirit.

(Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
