Major Duties: |
(a) |
To provide circulation and information counter services; |
(b) |
To provide support in processing different types of materials, including books, periodicals and multi-media items; |
(c) |
To assist in managing social media marketing tools such as Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, YouTube to promote library related activities; |
(d) |
To assist in leading library tours and co-ordinate library training online workshop via MS Teams; |
(e) |
To check the maintenance service for equipment, update the inventory record regularly; and carry out stocktaking; |
(f) |
To handle the inter-library loan services among VTC campuses; |
(g) |
To assist in updating library related content management system /web application/ databases, e.g. LibGuide, Legato and others; |
(h) |
To assist in updating and preparing the library monthly statistics; |
(i) |
To answer general enquiries and carry out general clerical duties; and |
(j) |
To perform book shelving and shelf-reading. |

Requirements: |
(a) |
(i) |
5 subjects in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) at Grade E / Level 2 or above, including English Language (Syllabus B)*, Chinese Language and Mathematics, or equivalent; OR |
|
(ii) |
A combination of results in 5 subjects in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination at Level 2 or above in New Senior Secondary subjects / “Attained” or above in Applied Learning subjects / Grade E or above in Other Language subjects, and the 5 subjects should include English Language*, Chinese Language and Mathematics; OR |

(iii) |
A recognised Certificate / Diploma / Foundation Diploma / Foundation Certificate, or Project Yi Jin; |

Completion of Hong Kong Vocational English Programme (HKVEP) at Level 2 / Passing 5 specific VTC’s Vocational English Module Certificates is considered an alternative qualification. |
(b) |
Proficiency in computer software application, such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams and Chinese word processing; |
(c) |
Proficiency in English and Chinese, preferably with knowledge of Putonghua; |
(d) |
Good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills; |
(e) |
Ability to work independently and be a good team player; |
(f) |
Good work initiative and customer-orientated; and |
(g) |
Possession of related library qualifications and work experience of Integrated Library System (ILS) e.g. Alma will be an advantage. |

Note: |
The appointee(s) will be required to work irregular hours or shifts and perform duties on Saturdays when necessary. |
