The Library now seeks an enthusiastic team player to join its Digital Initiatives and Research Cluster (DIR). The successful candidate will be a proactive and eager learner, working in a team to provide support in diverse areas of research services. The position will:
- Provide substantial support to the annual CDCF exercise through effective communication with departments/researchers and accurate data collection and verification;
- Assist in testing a newly developed workflow system in terms of usability, data synchronisation and accuracy, and the submission and verification workflows;
- Assist in the technical development and annual updates of dashboards and data visualisations, and coordinate data checking against original data sources;
- Participate in daily Integrated Research Information and Management System (IRIMS) data verification;
- Perform ad hoc tasks as assigned; and
- Provide shift counter duties as required.
Applicants should possess at least a bachelor’s degree with preferably 3 years of relevant experience. This position requires someone to have strong communication skills, a service-oriented attitude, and a sensitivity to detail. Working knowledge of an IRIMS system is a must. Understanding of SciVal, InCites, PowerBI, Tableau, and/or other data visualisation tools is highly preferred. A good command of English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua) and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team are important. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a written test.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.
