The Library now seeks an energetic, self-motivated, and highly service-oriented individual to serve in the position of Library Assistant at its branch Library on Shek Mun Campus. The appointee will be responsible for: a) assisting users in the use of library services, equipment and facilities, and answering general enquiries; b) creating instructional signage and promotional materials; c) providing administrative support for daily operations and ad hoc projects; and d) assisting in the coordination of the logistics of library-wide events. Shift duties in the evenings, weekends and public holidays are required.
Applicants should possess a recognised higher diploma/associate degree or equivalent qualification. A good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua) is essential. Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite and Chinese Word Processing, is required. A good knowledge of graphic design and hands-on experience in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite of tools (e.g. Photoshop and Illustrator), Camtasia and Canva, are essential. The appointee should have a positive service attitude and strong interpersonal skills. Possession of relevant qualifications and/or work experience in the library field will be advantageous.
The initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
