The University now invites application for the following position:



  • lead the strategic development with innovative approaches for the delivery of academic and user services to support teaching, learning and research activities;
  • oversee the library outreach and public services to formulate policies and manage the use of library facilities and its collections;
  • oversee the research and learning support services to develop effective scholarly communication, instruction activities and reference services;
  • cultivate strong liaison relationships with faculties to design library instruction classes and develop information literacy programmes;
  • prepare timely reports, financial and statistical analysis to support decision making; and
  • serve on library-wide committees and lead special projects.


Applicants should:

  • possess a recognised university degree and professional qualification in librarianship (MLS or equivalent);
  • have at least 7 years of experience at supervisory level in academic libraries;
  • have solid experience in the development of scholarly communication programmes, information literacy skills, and library outreach services;
  • have knowledge of library profession trends, theories and best practices for the delivery of innovative user-centered services;
  • have the ability to work independently with initiative as well as a member of a team; and
  • have excellent planning, analytical, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

Applicants with work experience in the tertiary education sector will be an advantage.
