Library Assistant II (Ref: 2100296)
The appointee will be responsible for cataloguing of Library’s collections in various formats, database maintenance work for the digitization projects of the Library, and copyright management. He/she will provide clerical support in the Section, supervise Student Helpers and carry out other duties as assigned by supervisors. The appointee will also be required to work at service counters on shift basis, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
Applicants should have a Level 2 or equivalent or above in 5 subjects including Chinese Language, English Language and Mathematics in the HKDSE; or Grade E (Level 2) or above in at least 5 subjects including Chinese, English (Syllabus B) and Mathematics in HKCEE or equivalent. They should have good knowledge and hands-on experience on metadata management software (such as Microsoft Excel and MarcEdit); good interpersonal skills and attention to details; high proficiency in both English and Chinese typing, and good computer skill. Fluency in Putonghua and knowledge in RDA, AACR2, OCLC Connexion and MARC 21 is also advantageous. Priority will be given to those with recognized library assistant training, and working experiences in academic libraries and Alma system.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract. Fringe benefits include contract-end gratuity, leave, medical and dental benefits.
