Project Administrator – Data and Database Management (23240562)

The Library now seeks an enthusiastic team player to join the Digital Initiatives and Research Cluster (DIR).

The successful candidate will be a proactive and eager learner, working in a team to provide support in diverse areas of services. The position will:

  • Assist in data cleaning and indexing for digital scholarship projects;
  • Provide training to project/junior staff for data indexing and enhancement purposes;
  • Assist in processing institutional research and publication metadata;
  • Assist in educational activities in data literacy, including organising workshops, managing online course rooms, and developing training material;
  • Assist in the procurement, installation, post-installation checking and preparation of user guides of data software applications; and
  • Participate in any other tasks as assigned by his/her supervisors.

This position also provides counter service in the Multimedia Learning Center. Shift counter duties are required.

Applicants should possess at least a recognised bachelor’s degree (preferably in data science, information technology, computer science or related disciplines) with 3-5 years of related experience. Valid work experience in Excel, Python and MySQL, as well as strong interpersonal skills are required. Online system development experience, JavaScript, PHP, Google Maps APIs, XML, JSON-LD, RDF,, SPSS, ArcGIS, and/or Tableau is a plus.

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement.

Reference monthly salary range: HK$27,665-HK$46,285

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
