The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Library invites applications for a Project Co-Ordinator II. The appointee will be assigned to the Digital Initiatives of CUHK Library.
Duties include (a) providing logistical support and co-ordination in various library digitization projects; (b) assisting in managing and processing large data sets; (c) designing websites, leaflets and other art works; (d) incorporate various digital tools to dataset for Digital Scholarship project development; (e) supervising student helpers for quality control and other areas relating to digitization; (f) recording
and compiling usage statistics; (g) assisting in organising events and the operation of the Digital Scholarship Lab, including the use of software, workstations and equipment; (h) performing general office administrative tasks including procurement and payment arrangement; and (i) other tasks as assigned. Shift duties in the evenings, at weekends or on holidays at library counters are required.

Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in Library or IT-related disciplines; (ii) working knowledge of processing digital objects and managing AV equipment; (iii) proficiency in Microsoft Office, Photoshop and other graphic design tools; (iv) a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; (v) good interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills; (vi) a
strong sense of responsibility and self-motivation; and (vii) the ability to work independently, collaboratively and under pressure. Knowledge of and experience in image/audio/video formats and relevant equipment, and at least 2 years’ relevant working experience is preferred. Applicants with hands-on coding experiences like Python will be advantageous.

Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to mutual agreement.
