The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Library invites applications for a Project Co-ordinator II. The appointee will be initially assigned to the Chung Chi College Elisabeth Luce Moore (CCL)/Architecture (ARL) libraries of CUHK. This department is committed to provide a wide range of library services to support teaching, learning and research of the university community.

Major duties include (a) daily staff administrative operations of the team; (b) preparing procurement of office consumables, disposal/inventory management of library furniture & equipment; (c) maintaining library facilities and equipment; (d) supervising staff and student helpers; (e) recording and compiling usage statistics; (f) handling various library-related enquiries; (g) performing helpdesk duties in the CCL/ARL libraries as well as the Wu Man Yuen Learning Commons; (h) assisting in special and ad-hoc projects; and (i) other tasks as assigned. Shift duties in the evenings, at weekends or on holidays at library helpdesks are required.

Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree; (ii) a good command of both spoken and written Chinese and English; (iii) the ability to work independently, collaboratively with colleagues and as part of the team; and (vi) excellent interpersonal skills with a customerfocused approach. At least 5 years of working experience in academic libraries, including use of library management systems, is preferred. Good working experience in financial procurement will be advantageous.

Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to mutual agreement.
