Reporting to the Head of Resource Management, the appointees will be responsible for managing the acquisitions and cataloguing processes of the library collections, including print and electronic resources. Their specific duties include liaising with book vendors and publishers, creating and handling metadata such as MARC records, managing license agreements, and compiling usage reports. They are also responsible for creating metadata with authority control; contributing to international cataloging programs including Name Authority Cooperative Program (NACO) and Online Computer Library Center (OCLC) WorldCat; staffing the information desk; and participating in library-wide projects, committees and activities as needed.

Applicants should have an MLS degree or equivalent in addition to a bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years’ post-qualification library experience, preferably in acquisitions or cataloging in an academic library. They should have excellent communication skills, the ability to work effectively in a team environment, and a learning mindset. Knowledge of and experience in electronic resource lifecycle in acquiring, licensing, and managing access; using the OCLC system and Alma; and RDA, MARC21 and linked data will be an advantage. Professional training will be provided. Applicants with less experience in acquisitions or cataloging may also be considered. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
