Responsibilities

  • Supervise the daily operations of the Service Counter and oversee the management of learning facilities and public areas to maintain a professional and welcoming library environment
  • Deliver frontline counter services, and resolve user enquiries and complaints via various communication channels
  • Provide administrative support for the management of user records, collection maintenance, stack management, physical space and signage planning, and periodic inventory audits
  • Develop and update operational manuals and compile statistical reports regarding payment records, resource and facilities usage
  • Coordinate and manage workflows of resource sharing (interlibrary loan) services with local and international partners
  • Manage the recruitment, training, and supervision of part-time staff and student helpers, as well as the management of all counter-related duty rosters
  • Serve as the reliever for the Access Services Librarian during their absence, ensuring operational continuity and team leadership
  • Shift duties in evenings, and on weekends and public holidays will be required
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor(s)


Requirements

  •  A recognized university degree
  • A good command of English and Chinese, including Cantonese and Putonghua
  • Positive working attitude with a strong sense of responsibility and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Working experience in integrated library system operations, including Alma/ Primo systems

Candidates with less/more experience will be considered for appointment at a relevant rank


Salary and Fringe Benefits

The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund and gratuity.
