The appointee will work in the Access Services team of the Library. He or she is required to (a) supervise and commit the resources sharing activities including HKALL and Interlibrary Loan service that collaborate with local and overseas institutions; (b) manage the Course Reserves and other book stacks to ensure library materials are available to the user; (c) provide clerical and liaison support to the maintenance of overall physical library space and inventory; (d) conduct annual stock taking and regular shelves reading exercises; (e) gather and record statistics and compiling different surveys, statistics and usage report for departmental use; (f) supervise and provide training to part-time and student helpers; (g) perform other duties as assigned by supervisors and University Librarian. Shift duties on evenings, weekends and public holidays will be required.

Applicants should have (i) a good honour Bachelor degree; (ii) 1-2 years of working experience preferably in academic libraries with positive customer service attitude; (iii) good command of English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua); (iv) the ability to work in teams and independently; and (v) proficiency in PC skills, with graphic design software knowledge and website authoring experience preferred.
Candidates of high caliber with less/more experience will also be considered for appointment at a relevant rank.
