Responsibilities

  • Provide clerical and logistical support to the smooth running of information literacy programs including orientations, workshops, and all other reference and instruction services in both online and in-person formats for students and faculty
  • Assist in conducting library tours, handle enquires at the Services Counter and via other channels, and other public services
  • Keep the content of the library website and digital learning objects up-to-date
  • Prepare promotional materials for workshops and events, and assist in all publicity activities
  • Gather and record statistics and compile different surveys, statistics and usage reports for departmental use
  • Supervise part-time and student helpers
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor(s) and University Librarian
  • Shift duties in the evenings and / or on the weekends and public holidays will be required


Requirements

  • A recognized university degree or above
  • 1-2 years of working experience preferably in academic libraries
  • A good command of English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua)
  • Ability to work in teams and independently with a positive customer service attitude
  • Proficiency in PC skills, with graphic design software knowledge and website authoring experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of 3D modelling, 3D printing, 3D scanning, laser cutting, or laser engraving is preferred

Candidates with less/more experience will also be considered for appointment at the relevant rank.


Salary and Fringe Benefits

The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund and gratuity.
