The Library is looking for an Officer to support communications, publicity, and user engagement initiatives, and to provide administrative support for Library operations.

Major duties of the appointee include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Supporting Library publicity campaigns and promoting Library services, resources, programs, and initiatives through various communication channels.
  • Creating, editing, and publishing content for the Library’s website, blog, newsletters, social media platforms, and other communication channels.
  • Maintaining the Library’s social media presence and assisting in the development and implementation of communication and publicity strategies.
  • Liaising with internal and external parties on publicity, communication, and user engagement activities, and assisting in the production of publicity materials.
  • Providing administrative and operational support for Library events, programs, exhibitions, visits, tours, talks, and other activities, as well as performing shift-based counter services on a rostered basis.

The appointee may be required to work outside normal office hours and on weekends occasionally to support activities and counter duties.

Applicants should posses:

  • A bachelor’s degree with 3–5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in communications, marketing, public relations, content management, higher education, cultural institutions, or public organizations.
  • A Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
  • Strong writing, editing, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, work independently, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience in managing websites, social media platforms, digital content, or online communications will be an advantage.
  • Experience in graphic design, photography, photo editing, video editing, or content creation will be an advantage.
  • A service-oriented mindset, strong sense of responsibility, and attention to detail.

(Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.  A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of the contract.
