Mr. Hiroshi Kawamura

Vice President, Assistive Technology Development Organization (ATDO), Japan

Hiroshi Kawamura is the Vice President of the Assistive Technology Development Organization. He chaired the Section of Libraries for the Blind/International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (1990-1995) while he served for the University of Tokyo Library (1970-1997). He has been a Board member of the DAISY Consortium (www/daisy/org) since the establishment of the Consortium in 1996. He led the nation wide implementation of DAISY in Japan (1998-2003). He contributed to the United Nations World Summit on the Information Society (2003-2005) as the Disability Focal Point, and again contributed to the 3rd United Nations World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction as a Disability Group Focal Point. The most current focus of his work is born accessible publishing by bridging documents and motion pictures.
