HKLA 2024 2nd Local Visit to The Preservation Centre, The University of Hong Kong Libraries
While we just had a fruitful talk in CUHK Library, we are having our 2nd local visit in coming June 2024. We are excited to have the Preservation Centre, The University of Hong Kong Libraries to host two sessions of open house event for us.
Since its establishment in 2010, the Preservation Centre has been devoted to preserving and conserving library and archive collections, ensuring their longevity and accessibility for present and future patrons.
At the open house event, our members will have the opportunity to explore the book and paper conservation lab while learning about the significance and challenges of preservation and conservation work. The conservators and technicians with diverse specialties will show us a wide range of conservation equipment, tools and techniques for treating rare books, manuscripts, archival documents, photographs, prints, drawings, and other works of art on paper.
