Visit to Tai Po Wun Yiu (大埔碗窰)

We are honoured to have a guided tour of the Tai Po Wun Yiu and the regional cultural attractions in the nearby area.

Docent: Mr. Leung Kwok Hung is a seasoned antique collector and appraisal expert based in Hong Kong. He is the president of the Hong Kong Ancient Porcelain and Zisha Identification Association. His primary collection includes antique porcelain and Zisha teapots, boasting a vast and diverse range of items.
導賞員:梁國鴻先生是香港資深古董收藏家及鑑定專家,亦是【香港古瓷及紫砂鑑定學會】會長。他的主要收藏品包括古董瓷器及紫砂茶壺,收藏品規模龐大而且品種豐富。

The guided tour will lead members to visit different historical sites in Tai Po. The itinerary is detailed below. Wun Yiu is the only kiln site to have been discovered in Hong Kong to date that is known to have produced porcelain in underglaze blue. Academics began studying the history of the site in the 1950s, and, in light of its historical significance, part of the area where remnants of the kiln were unearthed was declared a monument in 1983. 是次導賞將帶領各會員參觀大埔不同的歷史景點,行程在以下詳列。大埔碗窰是香港目前發現唯一的青花瓷窰址。自二十世紀五十代起,已有學者關注碗窰的歷史。由於碗窰遺址具有很高的歷史價值,部分發現窰爐的地方已於1983年宣布為法定古蹟。展覽介紹碗窰的歷史及考古發掘,並展示出土的明清兩代文物。如欲進一步了解碗窰遺址,可詳閱古物古蹟辦事處網頁

  1. 清代火車站 [追憶香港百年滄桑] →
  2. 朝飛大埔河 [原大埔河位於現時大埔墟站附近,運頭角出大埔海。1970年代,因為興建大埔新市鎮,近岸大埔海填海,大埔河因此延伸到廣福邨,並與延長了的林村河匯合,再在元洲仔附近出大埔海。] →
  3. 憑弔陶子峴 [陶子乃文氏族人所開,與碗窰各村,以燒制磁器爲生。] →
  4. 進發上碗窰 [位於大埔南面,處大埔河上游,即碗窰河附近。明朝時期,碗窰有窰燒製磁器,因以得名。今已無窰,改建爲屋宇,村分上碗窰及下碗窰] →
  5. 乾隆樊仙宮 [又名樊仙廟,位於大埔上碗窰村,供奉的樊仙為陶瓷業的神明,經過多年演變成為地區的守護神明,是香港法定古蹟。樊仙宮是由碗窰鄉十條村共同管理,是碗窰鄉公所的辦公地點及鄉民日常議事的地方。] →
  6. 龍窰瓦碴堆 [碗窰的窰爐建於斜坡上,通稱「龍窰」] →
  7. 碗窰展覽室 [由上碗窰村兩間空置學校課室改建而成,毗鄰樊仙宮,展覽除介紹碗窰的歷史,還展示出土的明清兩代文物。] →
  8. 古牛碾作坊 [牛碾作坊乃由花崗岩石製成的碾槽及碾砣組成,是把瓷石碾成粉末的工具] →

  10. 踏破瓷山路 [碗窰佔地廣闊,拾級而上了解其陶瓷製作得天獨厚的環境,除蘊藏豐富瓷土礦外,背山面海,土崗不高,乃龍窰燒瓷理想之地] →
  11. 擬水車打碓 [水碓作坊遺址依山從上而下興建,共16所,每所作坊設三王六個水碓,以水力推動] →
  12. 礦洞如虎穴 [瓷土是製造瓷器的必需原料。碗窰張屋地村後山一帶仍保存數個昔日開採瓷土礦的礦洞。]

Note:

  • You must comply with the “Heritage Protection” regulations. 必須遵守<保護文物>規則。
  • The route to and from the porcelain area on the mountain includes a rugged section; everyone should assess their ability to traverse it. 往返山上瓷區,其中一小段路,上落崎嶇,大家需量力而為。
  • Please bring your own food, water, and medication, as there will be no supplies available along the way. 請自備糧水,葯物,中途沒有補給。
  • Wear comfortable clothing and lightweight hiking shoes, and bring hiking poles. 需穿著舒適衣物,輕便行山鞋,帶備行山手杖。
  • If the weather is bad, the trip will be canceled or rescheduled. 如天氣惡劣,行程將會取消或改期。
  • During the trip, everyone must pay attention to their own safety. The association and I will not be held responsible for any accidents. If you need insurance, please purchase it on your own. 行程當中,大家需注意自身安全,如發生任何意外,本會及本人均無需負上任何責任。如需保險,請自行購買。
