Nowadays, living green and sustainable is not a choice anymore, but rather a necessity. In view of climate changes and many other social issues, how can a library live up its full potential and act agilely? Mr. Tim Schumann will share the topics including “Sustainability and Digital Society”, “Sustainable Librarianship”, “Relevant Networks & Best Practices from Germany, Europe and around the world”, “the Development of the City Library Pankow (Berlin) into a Green Library”, as well as “Libraries as Strong Protagonists in an Ecological Future”.

Mr. Tim Schumann

Tim Schumann was born in Berlin in 1982. After his training in an Academic Library (2004-2007), he went to Marburg for his BA studies in History and Cultural Studies and worked there in parallel in the University Library. When he moved to the Storman District Archive, he began his part-time MA Libraries- and Information Science studies at the TH Cologne, which he completed in 2007. Since 2018, he has been the director of the Heinrich Böll Library in Berlin-Pankow. He is the co-founder of the Green Library Network and co-initiator of Libraries4Future.
