Assistant System Officer – Library (Ref: LA (LIB) 2023-03-17)




  • support the development and maintenance of library websites, in-house applications, library wide projects and new initiatives;
  • assist in the administration, maintenance and enhancement of the integrated library system, discovery services, and RFID;
  • provide support to the computer hardware & software;
  • set up corresponding IT/AV equipment in the library events;
  • assist in the administration and preparation of inventory, incident reports and statistical reports; and
  • provide general enquiry assistance at service counters.


Applicants should:


  • possess a recognised Diploma or above in Information Science / Computer Science / Library and Information Management or equivalent. Fresh graduates will also be considered;
  • have basic knowledge of IT skills and programming languages, such as HTML, XML, PHP, MySQL, and WordPress etc.;
  • have knowledge of web content management, web design and editing;
  • preferably have knowledge in server administration of Linux and Windows; and
  • have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.


The appointee will be required to work shifts in evenings, and on weekends. Applicants with work experience in the tertiary education sector will be an advantage.
